Hi guys ! Some snippits of my crochet happenings of the week. I learned the ‘popcorn’ stitch, and made a bedside trivit.
Also have begun tortuing myself with a silk aster flower motif from the book ” The New Granny Square” , which is probably a book for the most of experienced crochet folks, which i am not.
Most exciting to me….is the blanket edging!! I totally love the trofoil crochet edging….it goes so well with the pastels of this blanket. It is going to be a nice little heirloom piece I am thinking.
We camped here this weekend. What a magical place. We saw :: ancient sea floorbeds and fossilized remains. Slept under stars surrounding these rock formations. Truly beautiful : a place you’ll not forget. More photos here.
That blanket is gorgeous. I love crochet these days, but have yet to make anything large. Someday…

Your crocheting is amazing. Especially for me who is a beginner and can’t really get into it. Love the look of the camping spot, with fossils as well. Sounds like my kind of place.

Gorgeous edging., Something to aspire to.
The Kimberley is amazing. Have done the Gibb River Rd Track a few years back from Darwin to Broome.

are you learning by book or Youtube? Man, I can do stitches, but when I try to read it from a pattern, not so good!
Congrats to you for your learning curve.

hi amanda,
the book i used is THE CROCHET BIBLE, by Sue Whiting.
When i was learning to do basic stuff before i got this book – i found youtube very helpful.
its like having your granny in the room, (just someone elses!)
i’ve just learned to successfully read crochet patterns – some of them. :/

I like the new look here. I’m assuming it must be cool weather there; it’s 100 degrees (f) here today. If I held wool, I’d faint. I like your profile description, too. AND, I <3 collared greens. I was born in the north, but I think my blood is Southern.
Love ya, Laura,
